Zach Bryan Deactivates Twitter After Drunken Tweet
Zach Bryan turned off his Twitter after saying Kanye is better than Taylor Swift while drunk and then tried to fix things on Instagram.
He got into trouble on Tuesday night when he tweeted, “eagles > chiefs Kanye > Taylor who’s with me.” Bryan supports the Eagles, who lost to Travis Kelce’s Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl.
The tweet made a lot of Swifties mad. On Wednesday, Bryan explained he was drunk and posted that message after listening to Taylor’s song “Thank You Aimee,” which takes a shot at Kim Kardashian and Kanye.
He tweeted, “Guys I love Taylor, was listening to TTPD last night and thank you aimee came on and I drunkenly tweeted about Kanye. If anyone took it serious please know I love both artists a lot and think we’re in a really beautiful time of music.”
Even though he said sorry, Bryan still deactivated his Twitter, and by Thursday morning, it was still down.
Bryan is still on Instagram, and in his Stories, he posted a long message with an audio clip of Taylor’s song “Fortnight” to try to calm things down.
“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” Bryan wrote. “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain to her.”
Fans sometimes forget celebrities are humans too.
Bryan added, “Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”
In another Story with Swift’s “The Albatross” playing, he admitted he’s been having a hard time and might have projected his feelings. He didn’t mean to be rude to Taylor and respects her a lot as a musician.
In more Stories on Thursday, Bryan praised Swift, calling her “a force of nature for as long as we’ve all been growing up and I admire that,” and confirmed he’s stepping away from Twitter. “I’m going to take a breather from tweeting stupid stuff, finish my tour, and ground myself somehow in the midst of all this.”
And he reminded everyone, “Don’t drink and tweet!!”
