Cinematic Visual Pays Homage to Virgil Abloh
A week after revisiting his mixtape Days Before Rodeo for its 10th anniversary, Travis Scott has released a video for the track "Drugs You Should Try It."
The video begins with a model posing in front of a neon sign of a smoking cowboy from Scott’s Rodeo Tour in 2015, subtly honoring Virgil Abloh. “He’s forever with us, you dig?†Scott said during a recent concert.
Next, the video shows a warning: “Please play this song at maximum volume for optimal effect,†alongside the track list of Days Before Rodeo. The video features cinematic slow-motion shots of Scott jumping shirtless under the night sky, smoking a joint, rapping under red light, and diving into cold water.
Scott re-released his second mixtape Days Before Rodeo on August 23. This mixtape from 2014, which includes tracks like “Don’t Play†with the 1975, “Mamacita†featuring Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, and “Sloppy Toppy†with Migos and Peewee Longway, is now available on streaming services.
“Days Before Rodeo 10yr anniversary being celebrated by finally re-releasing,†he shared on Instagram. “Everywhere August 23rd and maybe couple DBR songs from that era from the vault… I’m fcking jumping thru walls ahhhh.â€
On his website, Scott also released a deluxe edition of the mixtape with new songs. The deluxe LP includes tracks like “Mo City Flexologist,†“Serenade,†“While Lots Changedm,†and “Yeah Yeah†featuring Young Thug. This mixtape came before his landmark Rodeo album from 2015.
