New Sophie Album Details Unveiled
To honor what would have been Sophie’s 38th birthday, her estate has announced the tracklist for her new posthumous album.
The album, out on September 27, will feature 16 tracks with collaborations from artists like Juliana Huxtable, Nina Kraviz, and Hannah Diamond. It includes four singles released before: “Reason Why” with Kim Petras and BC Kingdom, “Berlin Nightmare” with Evita Manji, “One More Time” with Popstar, and “Exhilarate” with Bibi Bourelly. New tracks feature Jozzy, LIZ, Big Sister, Cecile Believe, and Doss.
Previously, LIZ and Sophie teamed up for “When I Rule the World” and “High School Love.” Jozzy’s “RAWWWWWW” was shared on SoundCloud years ago but not officially released. Other songs like “Love Me Off Earth” with Doss and “My Forever” with Cecile Believe also appeared online over the years.
We are excited about this album and the legacy it continues.
Cecile Believe worked closely with Sophie throughout her career, contributing vocals and co-writing for Sophie’s 2018 album, “Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.” In 2019, Doss joined Sophie for a remix of “Whole New World” from the same album.
“When we, Sophie’s family, took our first steps towards bringing this project to fruition we contacted the dear friends with whom she envisioned the album,” Sophie’s family said in June. They added, “We have been finding comfort in the music Sophie left us; it is a gift that we truly cherish as we try to find a way forward, with Sophie forever at the center of our worlds.”
They continued, “Sophie didn’t often speak publicly of her private life, preferring to put everything she wanted to articulate in her music. It feels only right to share with the world the music she hoped to release, in the belief that we can all connect with her in this, the form she loved most.”

On Sophie’s birthday, Google celebrated with a special Doodle. The Doodle marked her 38th birthday with a tribute featuring part of “Immaterial” from “Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.”
“Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides” was Sophie’s only full album before she passed away in 2021 at age 34. She died after slipping and falling while watching the full moon in Athens. Her brother Ben Long shared with Billboard that there are many unreleased tracks and that he aims to honor Sophie by releasing the music she would have wanted people to hear.
