Sean Combs Seeks Dismissal of Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs Fights Back Against Serious Allegations

Diddy wants a federal judge to throw out the serious lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, following the quick settlement of a separate lawsuit with his ex-girlfriend Cassie last year.

Now, in a fresh move to dismiss, Diddy’s lawyers argue that Jones’ latest 98-page complaint is full of vague and exaggerated claims. They say Jones, who collaborated with Diddy on the Grammy-nominated Love Album between September 2022 and late 2023, is making a regular business disagreement seem like a scandalous conspiracy. After filing the initial complaint in February and amending it twice, Jones even dropped Universal Music Group as a defendant recently.

“Despite all its hyperbole and lurid theatrics, the [second amended complaint] fails to state a single viable claim against any of the Combs defendants,” says Diddy’s legal team. They believe the complaint is just trying to create media buzz to push for a settlement.

“Mr. Jones’ lawsuit is pure fiction — a shameless attempt to create media hype and extract a quick settlement,” states Erica Wolff, Diddy’s attorney. “There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, groomed, assaulted, or trafficked. We look forward to proving – in a court of law – that all of Mr. Jones’s claims are made up and must be dismissed.”

Diddy and his lawyers argue Jones has no solid ground for a racketeering claim, as his breach of contract over alleged non-payment doesn’t count as a necessary act. They also say Jones’ trafficking claim fails because he didn’t prove he faced “threats of force, fraud of coercion.”

Fans wonder how this will unfold in court.

Jones’ allegations of constant groping lack specifics, says Diddy’s legal team. They point out that Jones needs to provide details about the supposed misconduct but hasn’t shown any proof like conversations, reports, or witnesses.

The judge handling the case isn’t expected to decide soon. Jones gets to respond first. Meanwhile, Jones’ lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, highlighted that Diddy could have backed his motion with a sworn affidavit but didn’t. Blackburn also noted that Diddy was subject to a federal raid in March.

“This is nothing more than a billing exercise by Sean Combs’ latest set of lawyers. It is a weak attempt to fill their pockets before he is indicted and they decide to haul ass, just like his five previous lawyers did,” said Blackburn. “I pick my clients; I do not pick their facts. Rodney Jones filed a sworn affidavit under penalty of perjury to the truth of the matter asserted in the filing. Can Sean Combs do the same?”

Jones claims Diddy not only subjected him to unwanted sexual contact but also drugged him secretly and forced him into sexual activities with sex workers. He says he has physical evidence, including video footage. “Mr. Combs required Mr. Jones to record him constantly,” reads the lawsuit. “As a result, Mr. Jones has secured hundreds of hours of footage and audio records of Mr. Combs, his staff, and his guests engaging in serious illegal activity.”

In another lawsuit against Diddy’s son Christian “King” Combs by stewardess Grace O’Marcaigh for sexual assault, Diddy is also named as a co-defendant. This is because he rented the yacht where the alleged assault happened in 2022. Jones claims he has audio from the alleged incident. Some audio was published by NBC News, but they didn’t verify who was speaking.

Jones also accused Diddy’s associate Brendan Paul of being a drug “mule,” allegedly supplying drugs and guns for Diddy. During Homeland Security raids on Diddy’s properties in March, Paul got arrested for cocaine possession. Paul pleaded not guilty but later agreed to a deal to complete a drug-diversion program, after which his case will be dismissed.

Others named in Jones’ lawsuit include Diddy’s chief of staff Kristina Khorram, his 30-year-old son Justin Combs, City Girls’ rapper Yung Miami, and actor Cuba Gooding Jr. Jones is the first man to accuse Diddy of sexual misconduct. He is one of eight people who have filed sexual assault lawsuits against Diddy since November 2023.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in an earlier investigation, Jones described Diddy as a “monster” with no soul, saying he has no duty to anyone, not even his kids.
