There’s talk that a new film is being made, but no one is officially cast yet.
Ringo’s Hint
Ringo Starr seemed to hint that Barry Keoghan might play him in Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles biopic. In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, he said, “I think he’s great, I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons. I hope not too many.”
Rumors vs. Reality
While Ringo’s comment stirred up buzz about Keoghan possibly playing him, another source says nothing is set in stone. They mentioned to Rolling Stone that there are no actor deals yet.
If Barry does land the role, it would be huge for him. He was in Saltburn last year and will soon be seen with Cilian Murphy in a Peaky Blinders movie on Netflix.
Fans are curious about these films because they love The Beatles’ story.
Four Films, Four Stories
Instead of just one big movie, Sony Pictures is making four separate films to dive into each Beatle’s story. Sam Mendes, known for directing films like American Beauty and Skyfall, will direct all four movies, planned for release in 2027.
Mendes shared his excitement: “I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”
The Beatles Still Rock
Even half a century after splitting, The Beatles continue to make waves. Recently, they got a Grammy nod for Record of the Year with “Now And Then,” a track using AI to bring back John Lennon’s voice from a 70s demo. Many call it the final Beatles song.
