The New Chapter for Rahim Redcar

Formerly known as Christine and the Queens, Rahim Redcar has embraced a disco-trance vibe in his latest song "Deep Holes."

With its pulsating beat and driving synths, the track showcases Redcar’s declaration of love with the lyrics, “My heart is so open wide, oh, I can be that guy.” In the music video, he dons a red leisure suit and dances energetically in a forest setting.

Redcar’s new album, Hopecore, is set for release on September 27. He took charge of the entire process, from writing to producing and mixing. In his words, Hopecore was crafted "with tears, blood, and mostly an unwavering faith in the raw, pure expression of the soul." He described the music as a wild, prophetic journey that remained untouched by external influences. Plans are in place for a series of club performances featuring the full album.

Recently, Redcar performed at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony in Paris, where he sang "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" and "Born to Be Alive" while wearing his signature red leisure suit.

Fans love when their favorite artists experiment with new sounds.

His upcoming album follows the three-act pop opera Paranoïa, Angels, True Love and its precursor Redcar Les Adorables Étoiles (Prologue), which introduced the Redcar persona.

In a chat with Rolling Stone last year, Redcar, who is trans, shared how embracing his gender identity has improved his singing. “My range has drastically expanded,” he said. “It’s more open. When I was young, I was very meticulous about my singing, very terrified of pushing my voice. I was unhappy, and it was just an expression of my tension. Now I’m just going high, low, and strong, and it’s a galloping horse. It feels good to sing, being yourself.”
