Perry Farrell Healing After Jane’s Addiction Tour Cancellation

Perry Farrell is taking some time off to recover and seek medical help after a violent onstage incident with Dave Navarro that caused Jane’s Addiction to cancel their reunion tour.

On Saturday, Perry’s wife, Etty Liu Farrell, shared an update on social media. “As you know, Perry is the gentlest of souls. We are equally astonished at Perry’s physical outburst as you are – but you must know that Perry must had been pushed to his absolute limit.. to that end we apologize,” Etty wrote.

Etty also mentioned they’re using this break to reflect and heal. She explained that Perry has appointments lined up with a throat specialist and a neurologist because his sore throat and tinnitus made him lash out during the Boston concert.

Rumors about Perry being drunk were also shut down by Etty: “If you know and love Perry well, you know there’s no need for me to address the other false narratives. Our souls know.”

Jane’s Addiction decided to stop the tour, which had the core band members together after 14 years. Reports say tensions had been building, with Perry’s crowd banter bothering Dave Navarro.

Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery said the tour ended due to Perry’s ongoing behavior and mental health issues. They expressed concern for his well-being and hoped he would get the help he needs.

Farrell himself apologized: “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.”

Etty added, “Perry will persevere.. He will recover. He will be happy again. He will once again be able to share his music, vision and artistry – unbridled. Make no mistake when he’s ready he will take another giant leap over obstacles to make us laugh, think, while changing the world together.”

Fans are hopeful Perry gets better soon.
