Feuding Siblings on SNL
Even though Oasis said they wouldn’t do any interviews together before their reunion tour, SNL got them to come on Weekend Update with James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman playing the Gallagher brothers.
From the start, they were acting like quarreling siblings, poking each other and arguing. Colin Jost, the host, asked if they’d manage to get along for the big tour.
Noel replied, “I’m cool if he’s cool,” to which Liam quickly shot back, “I’m cool. I’m cooler than you are.” Noel simply told him to stop.
People find it funny when celebrities pretend to be feuding brothers.
The squabbling continued until Jost found something they both liked—Nineties cartoons. Curious about their argument’s origin, Jost learned it started backstage at Wembley Stadium when Noel embarrassed Liam by saying something mean to the Spice Girls.
Their tempers flared again but cooled when they talked about what else they agreed on, like which Sex in the City boyfriends were best or worst. Jost jokingly begged them to stay calm so he could enjoy the concert he already bought tickets for, claiming he’d rock out so hard he’d win a silly award.
Liam Gallagher himself noticed the sketch and asked online, “Are they meant to be comedians?”
