NOFX, the legendary punk band, had their last shows in San Pedro, California, at the Punk in Drublic Festival.
Their farewell concert was packed with surprises. Tim Armstrong, Brett Gurewitz, Jay Bentley, and Chris Shiflett joined them on stage. As a special treat, they played a new song called “We Did It Our Way,” inspired by Frank Sinatra’s famous tune. Before performing it, Fat Mike joked with El Hefe about not remembering the song. Then, with heartfelt music, they shared memories from when Fat Mike met Eric Melvin back in 1983, ending with the touching line, “If it wasn’t for all of you, we couldn’t have done it our way.â€
The night wrapped up with “The Decline,” a long track from 1999. Midway through, friends filled the stage, adding a big brass sound. The show ended with broken instruments and lots of hugs.
Fat Mike expressed his gratitude before the last song, promising there would be no future reunions like other bands have done. His words, “This is it, everyone, this is the last [song],†carried a lot of emotion and thanks.
Melvin echoed this excitement, thanking the audience for being there. They performed over three nights with other bands like Pennywise and Fishbone, celebrating their music journey.
“This is not a final tour like Mötley Crüe or Black Sabbath,†stated Fat Mike earlier in the year. The band was clear that these were truly their final performances, with nothing left to come after.
Their Instagram showed their gratitude, sharing photos that captured the moment, including one tagged “Gratitude. Thank you.” Fans felt the love and passion NOFX put into their last goodbye.
