Group Decision Shakes Things Up
NewJeans shared they’re parting ways with their label, Ador, during a press conference and hinted they might not use their group name in the future.
Challenges Ahead for NewJeans
In Seoul, NewJeans announced their departure from ADOR, a branch of HYBE. The split follows issues between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, who used to lead ADOR. The band told reporters that this move might prevent them from using their name later on. “Once we leave ADOR, we’ll aim to proceed freely with the activities that we really desire,” said Danielle. They want to stay together and hopefully work with Hee-jin again someday. “We really wish to be able to release new music for Bunnies, next year, as soon as possible, whenever,” she added. “We really hope that we have the opportunity to meet you guys from all around the world.”
ADOR’s Standpoint
ADOR responded by stating NewJeans’ contract is still active and asked them to keep working with them as before.
Fans wonder what will happen to the group next.
A Look Back at Recent Events
In September, NewJeans streamed a message to HYBE, asking for Hee-jin’s return after a clash with the company. The group has been vocal about needing her to continue, as she played a big role in their success. Their agreement with ADOR was supposed to last until 2029.
ADOR’s Reply
ADOR sent a lengthy reply after the group gave them a deadline to bring back Hee-jin. They said they always tried to solve issues reasonably and that not meeting the group’s expectations doesn’t mean they broke contracts. ADOR insisted they did everything possible.
