New Song Unveiled on Radio
A fresh tune from LCD Soundsystem debuted on the radio show Soup to Nuts w/ Anu, leaving fans eager to listen more.
The lucky folks who caught the show got to hear “X-Ray Eyes,” but unless you dig through the show’s archive, it’s a secret for now. No streaming or downloads available yet.
Twenty minutes into the London broadcast, listeners were treated to James Murphy’s voice crooning: “Every busboy, cigarette girl/Dental hygienist or backpacking teen/Newspaper seller, and the nightclub MC/You’re everything, you’re all I can see/The bones in your body, the blood in your veins/Your hasty decisions and behavioral chains.”
The catchy chorus echoed with lines about seeing inside and uncovering disguises, chanting “X-ray eyes” over and over.
Fans are quite excited about this new release because it’s been a while since we last heard something like this from them.
Back in 2022, they gave us “New Body Rhumba” for the movie White Noise, which was their first in a half-decade since their big comeback.
Recently, the band mentioned wanting to slow things down a bit. They aim to avoid the stress of making albums by dropping singles every now and then. Touring won’t be a big thing either.
“It’s not overwhelming, so I can work on new music and we can all be human beings,” Murphy said, adding that they’ll play again, and it won’t take five years.
They wrapped up a short North American tour earlier this year, showing they’re still around even if not as busy as before.
