MisterWives Announce Break After Next Tour

MisterWives Announce Break After Tour

MisterWives, led by Mandy Lee, said they will be pausing for a bit after their Just For One Night tour.

“It has been the biggest privilege of our lives to tour together for over a decade straight and while this isn’t goodbye, this is the last tour we will be doing for a while,” the band shared in a message to fans on Instagram.

The group, including Mike Murphy, Marc Campbell, William Hehir, and Etienne Bowler, invited their fans, called “MisterWifeys,” to help choose songs for the tour’s setlist to celebrate their time together.

“Thank you for letting our music into your world and forever changing ours,” they wrote. “Can’t wait to see you in your tartan, loofahs, flowers, and as always, glitter.”

MisterWives’ tour kicks off on Oct. 6 at Austin City Limits, with stops in cities like Nashville, Los Angeles, Boston, Philly, and Orlando until early November. “Before we say goodbye to the road for a while we want to know what songs you absolutely need to sing your hearts out to Just For One Night!” they said in their post.

People sometimes feel sad when their favorite bands take breaks.

Their break announcement comes weeks after releasing an album called Encore, a reimagined version of Nosebleeds. This album featured special guests like Pvris, Charlotte Sands, and Alice Merton.

In 2023, MisterWives talked to Rolling Stone about facing many challenges before making Nosebleeds. Lee and drummer Etienne Bowler separated romantically but stayed in the band in 2020. Trumpeter Jesse Blum left in 2021 after eight years, and the band was dropped by their label, Fueled by Ramen, that same year.

“Still standing despite [all the obstacles], felt like a pretty big triumph and moment to allow ourselves to create our fourth record with no limitations and without feeling boxed into what others might expect from us,” Lee told Rolling Stone. “Being kept high up in the Nosebleeds and on the outside of where you want to be has been a reoccurring dynamic in my life, especially in an industry that has profited off moving the goalpost.”

Formed in late 2012, MisterWives released four albums: Our Own House (2015), Connect the Dots (2017), Superbloom (2020), and Nosebleeds (2022). Their journey began with the EP Reflections and its hit single.
