Upcoming Tour for a Classic Album
Soon, Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy will hit the road to perform songs from the band’s album, Fables Of The Reconstruction.
The duo recently stopped by The Tonight Show, where they played an energetic cover of R.E.M.’s "Driver 8." This performance was just a taste of what’s to come during their upcoming tour, which will focus on R.E.M.’s third studio album.
Before this, Shannon and Narducy toured the debut album Murmur. That tour was special because it featured guest appearances from musicians like Kurt Vile and even R.E.M.’s own Mike Mills. During one show in Athens, Georgia, fans were thrilled when all four members of R.E.M. came together on stage.
The new tour will begin on February 14 at Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown, California. They’ll visit places like Seattle, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia, wrapping up on March 14 in Chicago. Interestingly, they’re set to perform twice at the famous 40 Watt club in Athens.
Shannon shared his excitement, saying, “I had never done a tour before… Now it’s all I want to do. I’m happy this one is twice as long. The last one was too short. This music is beyond comprehension and I cherish every chance I get to deliver it, even second generation. R.E.M. means the world to me. And this band led by Jason is stone cold ridiculous. Even if I never walked onstage, you would get a hell of a show.”
We love seeing celebrities share their musical talents with everyone.
Though Shannon is known for acting, like his role in The Bikeriders, he’s also into music. Just last month, he introduced a new musical idea called Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon with David Krumholtz and Kevin Corrigan in New York. It’s not clear if this was a one-time thing or if they’ll keep making music together.
