Christmas doesn’t start until Mariah says so.
Mariah Carey has put out her yearly video to declare that Christmas season is here. This time, she’s dressed as Morticia Addams, and the video starts in spooky black and white. Once the clock strikes midnight on November 1st, everything bursts into color and cheer.
In this video, Mariah dances with someone acting like Gomez Addams in a big mansion during Halloween. When Christmas arrives, the person turns into a happy snowman, and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” starts playing. Then she announces, “It’s tiiiiiime,” which signals that winter has begun.
The previous year’s video showed Mariah being thawed out from ice just before November 1st. She got defrosted with hair dryers and declared, “It’s time!”
Carey is going to celebrate this year with a Christmas tour, visiting 20 cities in November and December. The tour kicks off on the West Coast at Yaamava Theater in Southern California on November 6th, then heads to places like Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. It wraps up in New York City on December 17th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
