Mac Miller’s Long-Lost Album Is Coming
Back in 2014, Mac Miller made an album called Balloonerism, and now, it’s finally coming out.
This album has 14 songs, and you can hear "5 Dollar Pony Rides" first on January 9th. At a big music festival in November, people got a sneak peek of this song and another one with SZA, known before as "The Song That Changed Everything."
During the time Balloonerism was created, Mac also helped SZA with her songs "Ur" and "Warm Winds." He was so impressed with her talent that he said, “I don’t think this young lady knows how amazing she is.” After Mac passed away in 2018, SZA shared how much he believed in her.
Fans are super excited about this album. It feels like waiting for a surprise party!
Mac often used different names for his work. For example, he used Larry Fisherman for some tracks and Delusional Thomas for a song called "Transformations." This alter ego goes back to when he made a mixtape in 2013 after another album. Delusional Thomas was a special character for him, and he even rapped in a funny voice to make it unique. “There was part of me that wanted to do my own voice, but I just wanted it to be its own complete character,” he once explained.
When they decided to release Balloonerism, they said it was a very important project for Mac. He even got artwork made for it. But other things took over, and it stayed hidden until now. It’s being released on the fifth anniversary of another one of his albums, Circles.
