Adam Weiner’s Journey
He’s shy and ordinary, but when Adam Weiner hits the stage as Low Cut Connie, he transforms into someone extraordinary.
In the trailer for the documentary Art Dealers, we see Weiner captivating audiences as Low Cut Connie and reflecting on his life in a simple room. “I do believe that average people are capable of great things,†he says. He started his band at 31, doubting he’d ever have a career, but now he smiles, talking to fans and sharing his journey.
The film will be shown in select theaters starting September 6, with an on-demand release on October 1.
Weiner and Roy Power, who co-directed the film, will attend some of the screenings, including a Q&A in New York City on the first day.
“I am completely blown away by the response to this film and the music in it,†Weiner said. “These screening events are going to be ridiculous fun for me and everyone in the room. … We aim to make people laugh, cry, dance, and scream along with the film, and it’ll be fantastic to see it all in action at these screenings.â€
Fans might find this very exciting.
During a previous showing at the Philadelphia Film Festival, Weiner discussed his Jewish heritage and friendships with Palestinian Americans. He reflected, “By and large the world generally hates both of us, Jews and Palestinians. Ultimately, they don’t really want us in their countries. It’s the kind of prejudice that can either harden you to violence, or turn you into an artist, someone who paints the world from the margins. I hope for more art, and less violence.â€
