Kesha Kicks Off 2025 with a Bang
Kesha rocked the stage at ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, performing her famous “Tik Tok” and 2024’s hit “Joyride.”
Before singing “Joyride,” she humorously declared, “All I want for 2025 is a sugar daddy and a yacht… And now, we joyride, bitches!” During “Tik Tok,” she kept up her cheeky tradition by swapping “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P Diddy” for “Wake up in the mornin’ like ‘Fuck P Diddy,’” though the TV broadcast muted it.
Her switch-up of the “Tik Tok” lyric first happened with Reneé Rapp at Coachella. Later, in August, she shared plans to re-record the song to make the change permanent, saying on Instagram, “I absolutely love the new lyric change… Yes, it is permanent.”
Fans really love how bold Kesha is with her lyrics.
A day before the New Year’s show, she teased fans about how many times she could say “bitches” on ABC and remembered her first time on the event back in 2010.
Looking ahead, Kesha plans to drop a new album in 2025 with A.G. Cook and Zhone through her own label, Kesha Records, which started in September. She hinted in an Elle interview that this album would be different from “Gag Order,” showcasing more carefree vibes.
“I was really vulnerable. Now I’m really trying to make way for the bad bitch,” she said, wanting space for all feelings.
In 2024, Kesha released “Joyride” and “Delusional.” She also teamed up with Charli XCX on a remix of “Spring Breakers.” In June, she had her first performance as a free woman at West Hollywood Pride, debuting a song called “Freedom” and asking the crowd, “Anybody else feeling free as fuck tonight?”
