Nathan Silver’s new movie features Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane
Joanna Sternberg has a new song called “A Country Dance†for the film Between the Temples.
This song is all about having fun with a friend, Sami Bronowski. Even though Sternberg doesn’t dance, drink wine, or go outside because of allergies, she wanted to create a playful song for her pal. She said, “The joke of the song is: I don’t dance, I don’t drink wine, I don’t go outside, and I DEFINITELY do not go out in nature (allergies and insect phobias). But I wanted a playful nonsensical song to sing and to capture the fun I have with my dear pal.â€
Between the Temples, directed by Nathan Silver, stars Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane and will be out on Aug. 23. Schwartzman plays a cantor with faith issues, while Kane is his old music teacher who comes back into his life.
Sternberg thinks the song fits well in the movie because it brings a lighthearted feeling. She explained, “I think the reason the song can fit in this beautiful film is that it captures a freewheeling imaginative feeling. The lyrics are vague enough to be applied to anything, and it just creates a ‘fun and fancy-free’ mood!â€
We can’t wait to hear the song in the film!
On Instagram, Sternberg shared a video where Schwartzman talked about the song. He said, “It’s the song that closes out our movie Between the Temples, and [I] could not be more honored to be associated in my way with this piece of music, and I hope that you love it as much as I do.â€
Last year, Sternberg released another album called I’ve Got Me. They said, “I’ve been secretly saving these songs, hoping for something like this. This is an album in the sense of, ‘I finally get to do this! This is my dream come true, and I’m doing it, this is me!’â€
