Jake E. Lee Links Las Vegas Shooting to Robbery

After a frightening encounter, the guitarist is healing at home, believing it all began with masked strangers near his neighbor’s bike.

Unexpected Encounter

While strolling with his dog Coco in Las Vegas, Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times and now recovers at home. After leaving Sunrise Hospital’s intensive care, he shared that this ordeal started with an argument with masked people outside a neighbor’s house. He thinks they might have been robbers.

He explained on Facebook, “Walking home from our walk, Coco and I crossed paths with a couple of thieves. Dressed darkly, hoodies pulled down their faces and masks covering their mouths. Standing in a neighbor’s driveway checking out his motorcycle. There was a verbal confrontation which ended with an agreement that I would walk one way and they would walk the opposite. That didn’t work out.”

Limited Details

Lee isn’t ready to discuss much about the incident yet. He said, “I’ll probably talk in more detail about it later but right now I can only comfortably do a little at a time.”

Fans hope he feels better soon.

On Tuesday when this happened, Lee’s representative told Rolling Stone that they’re keeping quiet because the police are investigating. So far, no one has been arrested. The Las Vegas police confirmed they responded to a shooting report around 2:42 a.m.

Support and Reactions

The day after, Lee texted D.J. Ashba, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, saying he’s “doing surprisingly well” and called himself “one lucky motherfucker.”

Even Ozzy Osbourne spoke about it, despite not seeing Lee for 37 years. He told TMZ, “It’s just another senseless act of gun violence.”
