“I was like, ‘You’re nothing.’ It was so demoralizing,” she said.
Halsey recently talked about a tough time she had with someone in the music business. On the podcast Call Her Daddy, she explained how a big-shot executive looked through her private photos on her phone without asking while they were at dinner.
“And when that happened, in that moment, I was like, ‘You’re nothing. You’re nothing. You’ll always be nothing,” Halsey shared about how she felt. “You’re still just that girl who’s getting taken advantage of, or like men are talking about you behind your back, or you’re some sort of like, collateral’. I was like, ‘You’re nothing.’ It was so demoralizing.”
While having a fun dinner with this important exec, who wanted a photo with her for his niece, she excused herself to the restroom. He took this chance to snoop through her phone and peek at her nude pictures.
“I saw he was going through my nudes on my phone,” she said, feeling shocked. “I was just frozen…I didn’t even know what to do. I was like, ‘Did I just imagine that? Was that an accident?’ I was thinking, ‘Did the phone scroll up? What the heck just happened?’”
She worried he might have sent those images to himself too.

People were amazed by her story, wondering how such things can still happen today.
The talk with Halsey came shortly after she dropped her latest album, The Great Impersonator, which Rolling Stone called her “rawest, darkest” work yet.
