Godspeed You Black Emperor Tease LP With Grey Rubble

No Title as of 13 February 2024 28,340 Dead

Godspeed You! Black Emperor has a new album coming out called No Title as of 13 February 2024 28,340 Dead, which is about the Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

The album, set for release on Oct. 4 through Constellation Records, gets its name from the number of Palestinians who died from Israeli strikes between Oct. 7, 2023, and Feb. 13, 2024. Fans can check out a seven-minute instrumental track titled “Grey Rubble – Green Shoots,” which wraps up the album.

An album note explains, “The plain truth – we drifted through it, arguing. every day a new war crime, every day a flower bloom. we sat down together and wrote it in one room, and then sat down in a different room, recording. No title – what gestures make sense while tiny bodies fall? what context? what broken melody? and then a tally and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing pile. the sun setting above beds of ash while we sat together, arguing. the old world order barely pretended to care. this new century will be crueler still. war is coming. don’t give up. pick a side. hang on.”

We hope the music brings some awareness and solace during tough times.

The album is available for pre-order now on Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Bandcamp page, and the band is gearing up for their Liberation Autumn of ’24 tour starting Sept. 27 in Dublin. They’ll travel across the U.K. and Europe before hitting North America in November.

Their previous album, G_d’s Pee at State’s End!, came out in 2021, following the 2017 release of Luciferian Towers.
