New Song for the Holidays
Emma Bunton, just in time for the festive season, has released a fresh take on “2 Become 1,” a song originally out in 1996.
Earlier this year, she teamed up with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra to breathe new life into one of her beloved Spice Girls tracks. “Earlier this year, I had the amazing opportunity to record one of my favourite Spice Girls singles, 2 Become 1, with the incredible Budapest Scoring Orchestra!” Bunton shared online, expressing how special it felt to hear the music played by such talented musicians. They made sure to film the magical recording session.
Orchestral Magic
In the video, filmed during the session, Emma performs the touching ballad from the Spice Girls’ debut album, surrounded by the orchestra’s rich sounds. Her voice stands out beautifully with the strings backing her up.
On Christmas Day, folks in the U.K. can watch her perform on the Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.
Sometimes, fans just love seeing their favorite artists bring back old songs in new ways.
Spice Girls Memories
March was special, marking 30 years since the first auditions for the Spice Girls. The group shared old clips from those early days. While they didn’t reunite for new shows or music, they did come together for Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday in April, singing “Stop” from their second album, Spiceworld. In 2019, they went on a reunion tour, but Victoria wasn’t part of it. Their last big performance as a full group was during the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012.
