Eminem will drop a deluxe version of his latest album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), on September 13.
He made the announcement on social media with a video showing a milk carton asking if anyone has seen Slim Shady. The special edition is called Expanded Mourner’s Edition, but the tracklist isn’t out yet.
The rapper is set to open the MTV Video Music Awards tonight at 8 p.m. ET. He’ll perform songs from his new album on TV for the first time.
Eminem has eight VMA nominations this year, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year. If he wins one, he will become the most awarded male artist in VMA history, surpassing Peter Gabriel.
Fans are excited to see if he will break the record tonight.
The album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), was released in July. Before the album, he teased fans with singles like “Houdini” and “Tobey,” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. It has 19 tracks, including skits like “Guess Who’s Back” and “Guilty Conscience 2,” a sequel to his old song with Dr. Dre from 1999.
This album is his first major release since Music to Be Murdered By came out in 2020.
