Billboards Inspired by Taylor Swift Pop Up in NYC and Vegas
The DNC is putting up billboards in New York City and Las Vegas with nods to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and her song “…Ready for It?”
Kamala Harris’ campaign isn’t wasting any time after getting Taylor Swift’s endorsement. Just days after Swift announced she would vote for Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 election, billboards referencing Swift began appearing in NYC and Las Vegas.
One ad shows Harris with the slogan, “We’re in our Kamala era,” which seems to nod to the Eras Tour. Another ad is more direct, tying a reference from “Reputation” to Harris’ campaign slogan: “A New Way Forward… Ready for It?”
These ads will be displayed digitally in Times Square and on billboards in Vegas. Rosemary Boeglin from the DNC said they aim to remind voters of the importance of speaking up to change leadership. She urged people to visit IWillVote.com to find out how, where, and when to vote.
Swift endorsed Harris after the debate between Harris and Trump. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she said. She was also impressed by Harris choosing Tim Walz as her running mate, praising his support for LGBTQ+ rights and women’s health.
Fans think it’s cool that celebrities use their voices to support causes.
After Swift’s endorsement, third-party merch supporting Harris started popping up. The Harris campaign even had official friendship bracelets like the ones fans of Swift make, but they sold out quickly. Trying to keep up, the Trump campaign released its own merch inspired by the Eras Tour design.
