Cyndi Lauper brought Hayley Williams on stage for a surprise performance of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” during her concert in Nashville.
Five years earlier, Williams sang the same hit with Kacey Musgraves at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Lauper’s farewell tour, which promises special guests at each venue, has already featured Amanda Shires in Washington, D.C., and Sam Smith joining her for “Time After Time” in New York.
Fans love when singers bring unexpected guests to their shows.
Before her big show at MSG, Lauper shared with Rolling Stone her excitement for the tour, saying it’s like ticking things off a wish list. She’s thrilled to have many talented young women join her on this journey.
“For years, people told me a women’s tour wouldn’t work because women don’t sell tickets like men. Then I toured with Cher, and we played for a million people. So bullshit.”
