Converge’s Support for Hurricane Helene Victims
To aid those affected by Hurricane Helen, Converge has put out a live album titled Live in Orlando, FL 03.14.22. Recorded at the Abbey, Zach Rippy captured the performance, and Kurt Ballou handled the mixing.
The earnings from this album, which you can find on their Bandcamp page, will go to Mutual Aid Disaster Relief. "This release aims to offer financial aid to those impacted by Hurricane Helene," they announced on Instagram.
Fans of Converge will be happy with the tracklist that includes songs like “Dark Horse†and “Aimless Arrow.†Their collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe on the album Bloodmoon: I was the band’s latest work until now.
We admire when artists help others in need.
Joining other artists, Converge is raising money for hurricane victims; Dolly Parton gave $1 million from her own funds, and her Dollywood Company matched it with another million.
Dolly said, “From myself, personally, just from my own bank account, I’m donating a million dollars today,†highlighting her commitment to the cause.
Sturgill Simpson will also host a benefit concert in North Carolina, with proceeds going to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, aiding recovery efforts.
Hurricane Helene hit the southeast U.S., causing destruction and over 220 fatalities, heavily impacting western North Carolina, especially Asheville, where floods and mudslides destroyed parts of the River Arts District.
Concerts in Asheville are on hold as recovery continues, and MJ Lenderman has postponed some tour dates since his bandmates’ families reside there.
