Shawn Mendes Joins Coldplay for a Surprise Performance
It’s been almost two decades since "Fix You" came out, yet Coldplay is still performing it, and this time they got Shawn Mendes to help them out in Munich.
The show had the usual big vibe Coldplay brings, with Mendes adding a lot of fun energy. By the end, Chris Martin let Mendes finish the song solo. Their voices didn’t always match up perfectly, but the audience loved singing along.
Mendes wasn’t expected since he’s not touring right now; his last gig was in Winnipeg. However, he’s dropping a new album called Shawn on October 18 and just released a single named “Why, Why, Why.â€
People really love surprise performances like this.
Coldplay also has a new album coming. Martin posted an Instagram video revealing the tracklist for Moon Music, which drops on October 4. One track, featuring a rainbow emoji, was tough for him to draw with a Sharpie. The video background music was “We Pray,†featuring Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and Tini. It ends with Martin saying, “And so we pray.â€
That song will be fully out on August 23, with Tini’s version on September 6 and Elyanna’s on September 20.
Continuing their eco-friendly approach, Coldplay will release vinyls made from recycled plastic bottles. It takes nine bottles to make one LP, showing that while they might not fix you, they can help the planet.
