On November 16, a musician is set to host a well-known sketch comedy show.
Charli’s Busy Days
Charli XCX has been proving she’s all over the place, just like her song “360” says. She rocked a tour with a big show at Madison Square Garden, then spun tracks at an art event in New York for her remix album. Soon, she’ll be at 30 Rock, taking on double duties as both the host and performer on Saturday Night Live.
It’s funny how Charli’s album, Brat, made its way to SNL before she did. Bowen Yang, a cast member, dressed up as her in a skit called “Charli XCX Talk Show.” Charli was thrilled, saying, “I think SNL is iconic.” She mentioned she and Troye Sivan had a feeling it would happen, and they were super excited about it.
She also shared on Howard Stern’s show, “I love Bowen and I honestly think he did a great job,” noting how impressed she was with the wig’s texture.
Fans find it fun when musicians get to act on TV shows.
Taking the SNL Stage Again
The last time Charli performed on SNL was in March 2022 with songs from her album Crash, but she first appeared back in 2014. Her upcoming gig will be her first time hosting, which is pretty exciting!
Award Night Success
Recently, Charli got recognized at the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Innovator Awards. She talked about her album that’s all about her life, friends, parties, and struggles, saying she wasn’t sure if people would relate. But turns out, everyone seems to love a little chaos!
