Single Again
The wait is over for Britney Spears; she’s officially single. Her divorce from Sam was wrapped up six months after they started the process in August 2023. As she turns 43, she hasn’t shared any thoughts on the split or her birthday, but she’s been dancing on Instagram to celebrate freedom. “The day I married myself,” she wrote, spinning in a wedding dress. “Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done.”
Sam’s Words
Sam filed for divorce, saying they had “irreconcilable differences.” He shared on Instagram, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Shit happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including the media to be kind and thoughtful.”
Britney’s Reaction
A few days later, Britney spoke up on Instagram about the split. She said, “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business. I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that.”

Love Story’s Beginning
Their story started when they met while filming the “Slumber Party” video in 2016. They got engaged by September 2022, and after Britney’s conservatorship ended, they had a “dream” wedding with lots of famous friends there.

This marks Britney’s third marriage. She first married her childhood friend Jason in 2004, but it was annulled after just 55 hours. Later in 2004, she wed Kevin, the father of her two boys, but they split three years later.
