Bright Eyes have called off the rest of their 2024 tour because Conor Oberst is having trouble with his voice.
At the beginning of the month, they canceled three shows after Conor lost his voice during some warm-up gigs. They were touring for their new album Five Dice, All Threes.
Despite hoping to continue, more tests showed Conor has a condition that gets worse with too much singing. He needs treatment and rest, so the band decided to cancel the rest of the tour.
“We are confident that with a successful regimen, and continued medical attention, we will be able to return to the road next year,†the band said, aiming to reschedule the 2024 shows.
Canceled shows included Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas, and several European dates. "We love our fans and are incredibly disappointed that we won’t be able to play these shows," they added.
Fans hope Conor gets better soon.
Bright Eyes plan to start a North American tour in 2025 if Conor recovers. They’re set to begin in Phoenix on January 16 and wrap up in Des Moines on April 26.
Their first album in four years, Five Dice, All Threes, just came out and features collaborations with Cat Power, Matt Berninger from The National, and Alex Orange Drink from The So So Glos.
