Bob Weir Backs Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

A musician shared an image of Tim Walz holding a T-shirt with him and Kamala Harris as the Grateful Dead logo.

Support for Harris-Walz

Bob Weir is backing Kamala Harris. The Grateful Dead co-founder expressed his support for the Harris-Walz ticket by posting about it, showcasing a T-shirt inspired by the Grateful Dead with Kamala and Tim Walz on it.

“You can see your place in the world as something to defend from those who might want to take some or all of it from you — or you can see it as a grand adventure, a place to make dreams come to fruition for yourself and for others,” Weir wrote. “There is, of course, an in-between place — but the more you lean toward the grand adventure side, the clearer the choice becomes.”

He explained that focusing on reducing inequalities is important for building a better world. Weir has done his research and decided to cast his vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Celebrity Endorsements

Weir’s endorsement joins a growing list of stars supporting the Democratic candidates. Over the weekend, famous names like Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Ricky Martin showed their backing for Harris. On Monday, rapper GloRilla also endorsed her.

People often follow what celebrities do, and this might help sway some opinions.

A Tribute to a Friend

Weir’s political support comes shortly after he honored his longtime bandmate Phil Lesh, who passed away. They performed together for nearly half a century, starting with the Warlocks and continuing through the Grateful Dead’s long career and beyond.

“We had our differences, of course, but it’s not platitudinous to say that that only made our work together more meaningful,” he wrote. “Our conversation and interaction will last, at very least, ‘til the end of my days.”
