Björk’s Concert Film Debuts at Climate Week
A new clip from Björk’s upcoming concert film, Cornucopia, was shown at Climate Week on Friday, says Deadline.
The movie features her performance in Lisbon, the final stop of her Cornucopia world tour, which she used to highlight climate change. More details about when the film will be released are still unknown.
Björk shared a poetic statement with Deadline, calling the climate crisis an emergency and praising the Paris climate accord as a "modern utopia." She said, “Let’s imagine a world where nature and technology collaborate and make a song about it, a musical mockup, then move into it… Let’s be intentional about the light. Imagine a future. Be in it.â€
Rolling Stone reviewed the Cornucopia tour in New York, noting that a video of a young Greta Thunberg played during the set. The review described this moment as a powerful handoff from artist to activist, showing how serious the issue is.
Fans feel that Björk’s messages about the environment are always inspiring.
Back in 2015, she criticized Iceland’s leaders for trying to exploit the country’s natural resources. Last year, she spoke out about fish farms polluting Iceland’s waters and took action by releasing a special song with RosalÃa called "Oral" to raise funds for the cause.
“One of the reasons we’re going on this campaign is we can actually change this,†Björk told Rolling Stone. Scientists and environmental lawyers believe it’s still possible to fix the damage, giving hope for a happy ending.
