Billy Idol and Jelly Roll Perform Ozzy Osbourne Songs at Rock Hall

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Honors Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne got a big salute from famous musicians when he joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

It all began with Ozzy’s shout of “All aboard” before a star-filled night where Wolfgang Van Halen rocked a solo during “Crazy Train” as Maynard Keenan handled the singing. Jelly Roll followed, delivering a heartfelt version of “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” with Zakk Wylde wrapping it up with his guitar magic. Billy Idol then took the spotlight for “No More Tears.”

While this was happening, Ozzy watched happily from his giant bat throne.

The Rock Hall had already let everyone know about the performers joining this special tribute after Jack Black gave a speech to officially welcome Ozzy. Though Ozzy had been healing from injuries and wasn’t supposed to perform, he was eager to hear others sing his tunes.

Fans think it’s cool how these artists came together to honor someone they admire.

Ozzy shared his joy about the event, praising the singers and especially Jelly Roll, whose voice he called “soulful, pure, and dirty.” He felt deeply honored by this tribute, even more so because he hadn’t met some of the performers before.

The guitar players impressed Ozzy with their unique sounds, something he’s always valued. Among them were Zakk Wylde, Andrew Watt, who also directed the music, Steve Stevens, and Wolfgang Van Halen. Each brought their own style, making the night extra special.

Playing alongside them, Robert Trujillo on bass and Chad Smith on drums formed a rhythm section that Osbourne couldn’t praise enough. Their skills were unmatched, and they made sure the performance was top-notch.

This was the second time the Rock Hall recognized Ozzy. Back in 2006, he was inducted as part of Black Sabbath, with Metallica playing in their honor. Despite being eligible as a solo artist since then, it took until now for him to get the nod.

Reflecting on this moment, Ozzy said, “I don’t know what to think. I’m still in shock that I’m getting inducted for a second time. But at the same time, I’m very excited.”
