Trump Faces Beyoncé’s Legal Wrath Over Unauthorized Video
In a recent twist, Beyoncé might send a cease-and-desist to Trump after a clip featuring her song "Freedom" was shared on social media without her consent.
Rolling Stone reports that the 13-second video of Trump disembarking from a plane in Michigan, posted by his spokesperson Steven Cheung, uses Beyoncé’s track from the album Lemonade without permission. Despite this, the video remained on Cheung’s account as of Wednesday.
Interestingly, Kamala Harris had just released a campaign ad with “Freedom,†narrated by Jeffrey Wright, asking Americans what kind of country they want. The ad encourages unity and progress, contrasting sharply with the anger and division it suggests we avoid. Harris has been using "Freedom" since she began her campaign earlier in the summer, after Biden chose not to run again.
It’s worth noting that Trump has a history of using songs at rallies without asking the artists, often leading to legal threats and pushback from various musicians.
People wonder why he keeps doing this.
