The Exciting Performance
On Thursday night, Beabadoobee rocked the outdoor stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing “Beaches†from her latest album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves.
Bea, whose full name is Beatrice Lause, picked up her acoustic guitar and sang about feeling calm in uncertain times. Behind her, the band played, and the drummer had a picture of Bea as a kid on his drum set, which was pretty cool.
The performance had a magical moment when she paused playing to stress the second verse: “Find it hard to say, I know that I’m alright/Took a while for me to finally realize/That when I see it, I’ll believe it/Giving me a peace of mind.†Then, the stage transformed with tall trees and lights flashing all around.
Fans might think it’s so important when artists show their true selves in their music.
About the Album
Back in August, Beabadoobee released This Is How Tomorrow Moves. She mentioned it’s about growing up and being more aware of her actions, unlike her past work where she focused on blaming others. Now, she accepts that sometimes things are her fault too.
Critical Praise
Maya Georgi from Rolling Stone praised "Beaches" as a standout track. She said it shows Bea’s growth, with guitars that remind listeners of Weezer’s “Island in the Sunâ€. The song talks about finding happiness in life’s ups and downs, with a reminder to just dive into experiences without waiting.
The Tour
Just recently, Bea finished a 12-show tour across North America, promoting her album, with the last show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
