Band’s Turbulence
As I Lay Dying shared they are still figuring things out after losing three band members recently.
Guitarist Ken Susi, drummer Nick Pierce, and bassist Ryan Neff decided to leave the group. They all had their own reasons and hinted at some issues beyond the band’s troubled past. The lead singer, Tim Lambesis, had served time in prison for a serious crime involving his ex-wife.
Susi mentioned he knew about the band’s dramatic history when he joined after Lambesis reformed it in 2018. Yet, his values were pushed too far, leading to his departure. Pierce felt stepping away was crucial for his well-being.
Fans wonder if these changes mean more trouble or just a new beginning.
The departing members didn’t share specifics, and the band only stated they’re working on understanding what’s happening internally.
This message was part of another note about their album, Shaped By Fire, which briefly vanished from streaming services. The band said it was because their distribution deal ended, but the album would soon be available again since they now own it.
On top of all this, As I Lay Dying’s tour manager quit, leading to canceled shows as they gear up to release a new album, Through Storms Ahead, next month.
